What CDBS covers (and what it doesn't)

CDBS provides a benefit cap (set by the Australian Government) per eligible child over a two-calendar-year period for a defined list of basic dental services — typically including check-ups, X-rays, cleans, fissure sealants, fillings, root canals and extractions. CDBS does not cover orthodontic treatment, cosmetic services or treatment provided in a hospital setting. Eligibility is based on the child's age and the family receiving certain government payments — Medicare assesses this each calendar year, and we can check your child's eligibility and remaining balance with your consent.
